Research on the Design Characteristics and Development of Japanese Detached Houses

In this paper, we have done a research on the design characteristics and development of detached houses in Japan. We collected typical plans and introduction information of detached house cases of housing companies in Kyushu, Kanto, and Hokkaido. Through plan analysis, we can understand the characteristics of the plan design of Japanese detached houses and through text mining research to determine the key elements of concern for detached houses in Japan today. Based on the high-frequency keywords obtained by text mining, we did a questionnaire survey on the latest sales status of residential companies in 2019. Combining the results of the questionnaire survey with government statistics, we made a comprehensive analysis of the development of detached houses in Japan. Based on the results of the analysis, we made a summary to provide experience and reference for the development of the housing market in other countries. On the other hand, we used SWOT analysis to make reasonable suggestions for the future sustainable development of Japanese housing companies.
