About Professor Weijun GAO

Dr. Gao is a professor and Head of the Department of Architecture at the University of Kitakyushu
Visiting Professor at Xi'an JiaoTong University, China
Advice Professor at Jilin Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute, China<p>He was born in Haining, Zhejiang Provice, China, a small town with about 40,000 population. He entered to <a href="http://www.tongji.edu.cn/">Tongji University </a>, <a href="http://china-window.com/shanghai/">shanghai </a>in 1978 when he was 16 years old.<p>He got his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. <p>In August, 1982, He was sent to Architectural Design and Research Institute(ADRI) in <a href="http://www.zju.edu.cn/">Zhejiang University</a>(Web in <a href="http://www.ent.ohiou.edu/~guting/zu.html">abroad)</a>. <p>In 1984, He enrolled into Master Degree Cource in Heat transfer and Environmental Control in Buildings while worked at ADRI. <p>in 1987,he got his Master Degree in Engineering  from Zhejiang University. Then he become a lecturer in Department of Architecture to teach Planning for Environmental Control of Architecture. <p>In 1989, he enroll the PH.D. program at Energy Engineering Department, Zhejiang University while worked for Department of Architecutre  to have a research on Fire Simulation and Protection in Buildings.<p>In October, 1990, he , as a visiting scholar, come to <a href="http://www.waseda.ac.jp/index-e.html">Waseda University</a>, Japan and have being studying the city environmental planning in <a href="http://www.ojima.arch.waseda.ac.jp/">Ojima Laboratory.</a> <p>In 1993, he entered to Doctor course to have a study on <a href="file:///H:/today/weijun/Wwwroot/weijun/personal/phdpaper.html">Effects of Green Area on Mitigating Urban Thermal Environment</a>. <p>in March, 1996. he got his <a href="file:///H:/today/weijun/Wwwroot/weijun/personal/phd.html">PhD in Engineering</a> from <a href="http://www.waseda.ac.jp/index-e.html">Waseda University</a> <p>From 1995, he was teaching  Environmental Planning for Architecture and Urban Design in College of Technology, Waseda University. <p>From 1997 to 2001, he became a lecturer at <a href="http://www.waseda.ac.jp/a-research/index_e.html">Advanced Research Institute for Secience and Engineering</a>, <a href="http://www.waseda.ac.jp/index-e.html">Waseda University</a>,and also was a post doctoral fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science <p>In April, 2001, he became an associate professor in <a href="http://www.env.kitakyu-u.ac.jp/index.html" target="_blank">Faculty of Environment Environmental Engineering</a>, <a href="http://www.kitakyu-u.ac.jp/" target="_blank">The University of Kitakyushu</a> and at the same time, worked for <a href="http://www.waseda.ac.jp/index-e.html">Waseda University</a> as a visiting associate professor.<p>In 2006, he, as a visiting professor, worked at Berkeley Laboratory, The University of California<p>In April, 2007, he became a professor to lead a group in study of energy, environment planning for city.</td> </tr> </table> </body> </html>
